This is a long song with a healthy dose of screaming at the end by Slush. The irony is that other than the verses, there really isn't all that much real ska music in this song. You know, it's a healthy, responsible amount of ska, judiciously applied and presented with a classy classical melody that we ripped off from some stuffy old composer. Not an irresponsible, dangerous amount of ska, liable to cause you to twist your ankle or spill your drink. Can't have that. We're not savages, people.
lyrics
Good morning doc
I’m really hoping you can help me
I feel so old & I’ve got these aching knees
My Job’s a bore
Can’t write another TPS report
Sometimes it feels like I’m in prison on the 15th floor
I’ve got a case of the
Mondays so severe that nothing puts a dent in the misery, I’m just so
tired of this cubicle lifestyle & a tie so tight that I can’t breathe, It’s giving me
Migraines hypertension and a clinical sanity deficiency doctor, doctor I’m
Getting nervous now what could the answer be?
I’ve seen your case about a million times you gotta
loosen up that tie and take some time to unwind
It’s toxic for the soul going nine to five, but the
antidote is no more than the healing vibes of the
best dancing music that you’ll ever find it’s spelled
S-K-A(SKA), it’s gonna blow your mind, with the
rhythm and the horns and the skankin in time
I know what you need, you need a healthy dose of ska
Doctor I’m just not sure
if for this illness music is the cure
How do you know that ska can make my problems go away
It’s all in the beat
And when you start kickin up your feet
All your worries and woes will be in full retreat
Here’s the prescription that I’m writing that will rid you of the blues, that came
along with an office lifestyle so please follow it through and through, just ten
minutes a day of skankin will surely boost your immunity to all the
Symptoms that onset with a working week
I’ve seen your case about a million times you gotta
loosen up that tie and take some time to unwind
It’s toxic for the soul going nine to five, but the
antidote is no more than the healing vibes of the
best dancing music that you’ll ever find it’s spelled
S-K-A(SKA), it’s gonna blow your mind, with the
rhythm and the horns and the skankin in time
I know what you need, you need a Healthy Dose of Drew
